Preview

However you dress this up for Bolton, it's now crunch time. With a significantly worse goal difference than QPR, Owen Coyle will not want to go into their last game at Stoke with his side still in the bottom three - even if Stoke away looks more palatable than Rangers' last day trip to Man City.
LAWRO'S PREDICTION

"I just get a little bit of a sinking feeling about Bolton. After having a good run where they went three games unbeaten, they just seem to have hit the buffers again."

If Bolton do win they will also keep Wigan and Villa just about within range.

The good news for Bolton is that every time the old 'must win' cliché has been trotted out next to one of their fixtures recently, they have stood up and been counted - beating Blackburn, QPR, Wolves and Villa in the last couple of months. Without those wins they would already be down.

If Bolton do beat West Brom, then the pressure would all be on QPR who may then need to win that game at City to save themselves.

It will be interesting to see how the appointment of Roy Hodgson as England boss impacts on Albion. I bumped into midfielder Keith Andrews this week, and he will be very sorry to see Hodgson leave, as should all Baggies fans - he has done a wonderful job.

There are those who will use anything they can to make any England manager's job difficult, and a defeat to Bolton would be ammunition for those who are unconvinced.

Albion are tenth at the moment - if they stay there it would be their highest league finish since 1981, having long since secured a third successive top-flight season for the first time since 1985. Achievements like these may not be heralded from the back pages of the tabloids too often, but they deserve respect and Hodgson leaves Albion without having made drastic changes, but having improved them. Let's hope he does the same for England.
