Hearts striker Craig Beattie could miss out again with a hamstring strain.

Ian Black has a hernia injury that may require surgery in the summer, while Adrian Mrowiec (knee) has returned to training. Jamie Hamill (knee) is out.

Saints midfielder Chris Millar is a doubt with the recurrence of a groin injury and he will be assessed, as will defender Frazer Wright who has a knock.

Striker Fransciso Sandaza is suspended, Lee Croft has a hamstring injury and a family issue may keep Dave Mackay out.

On-loan Celtic forward James Keatings returns after being sidelined for the game against his parent club.

Hearts manager Paulo Sergio: "For them a good result here means qualification for Europe.

"St Johnstone will be motivated as ever to get a result here at Tynecastle.

"That kind of motivation sometimes can be the difference.

"We can't just be waiting for the cup final to put in 100%. We should put that in every single day."

St Johnstone manager Steve Lomas: "Hearts have us at home and Celtic away and we have them away and Rangers at home.

"So it [qualifying for a European place] is all to play for.

"I was looking for a reaction against Celtic after letting ourselves down, probably for the first time in the season, away at Motherwell, and we got it.

"I thought the team was good and we were pretty comfortable for most of the game, apart from maybe the last 10 minutes.

"We cut out the individual errors which were so prominent on Saturday. So I was happy with that."
