Preview

Everton will have their sights set on the top half when they face a Blackburn side taking in their first fixture outside of the bottom three since September.

The Toffees continue to struggle for consistency, with a three-match winless run seeing them drop out of the top 10.

David Moyes will be looking for a positive performance from his injury-ravaged troops on Saturday, especially as they are back on home soil.

Everton's recent record against Blackburn bodes well for Moyes and his men, with the Toffees emerging victorious in four of their last five top flight meetings.

They have, however, won only two of their last seven games at Goodison Park, scoring just five goals during that run.

While that statistic would appear to play into Blackburn's hands, they have been far from impressive on their travels.

A shock victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford the last time they headed out on the road proved what they are capable of, but that was their first away success in 10.

While they have not been picking up as many points as they would like on their travels, Rovers have found the target in their last 12 away games - with their last blank coming at Goodison in April 2011.

Rovers are giving themselves a chance to win games, but they have kept just one clean sheet in their last 29 away games - highlighting why they continue to struggle.

Steve Kean will want to address those defensive concerns on Saturday, especially as Blackburn have put their on and off-field troubles behind them to clamber out of the relegation zone.
Team news

Everton will have a number of players missing this weekend, with their treatment room a hive of activity.

Phil Jagielka (knee), Leon Osman (foot), Jack Rodwell (hamstring), Tony Hibbert (groin), Seamus Coleman (thigh) and Sylvain Distin (hamstring) are all still missing, while Ross Barkley is yet to shake off a knee problem.

Darron Gibson is, however, in line to make his Goodison Park bow.

New loan signing Anthony Modeste could make his debut for Blackburn if he receives international clearance in time.

The 23-year-old striker, who has arrived at Ewood Park from Bordeaux, could feature with Ayegbeni Yakubu beginning a three-match suspension.

Centre-back Scott Dann is also in contention for a return after recovering from a groin injury while Kean will judge Chris Samba's mental state, after the defender had a transfer request turned down, before deciding whether to include him.

Possible starting XIs

Everton: Howard, Neville, Heitinga, Duffy, Baines, Donovan, Fellaini, Gibson, Drenthe, Cahill, Saha.

Blackburn: Robinson, Olsson, Hanley, Dann, Givet, Petrovic, Dunn, N'Zonzi, Pedersen, Hoilett, Modeste.
