MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head

• This is the 90th competitive meeting. Bristol City hold a 35 wins to 27 lead over Watford, with 27 of these clashes ending inconclusively.

• The Robins have won one of their last five Championship matches against Watford.

• The Hornets are unbeaten in nine league trips to Ashton Gate, winning two and drawing seven since on odd goal in three defeat in March 1993.

Bristol City

McInnes wants City to 'battle hard'

•Bristol City could only manage a goalless draw, away to crisis-torn Portsmouth on Saturday. But it did see them increase the cushion between themselves and the relegation zone to four points.

• The Robins are seeking only their second win in 11 league games.

• They have failed to score in seven of the last 12, and in an unrivalled 17 Championship matches.

Watford

• Watford were also involved in a goalless draw against one of the relegation candidates on Saturday, home to Coventry. But the point took their unbeaten sequence to four games, to leave them five places and 13 points higher than Bristol City.

• It was also the 15th time the Hornets had failed to score, a third of those being against bottom five clubs.

• Sean Dyche has overseen seven away draws in this Championship campaign; only Cardiff have registered more (10).
