MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head

• Only one win separates these clubs after 47 competitive meetings over nine decades. Cardiff have won 19 and Coventry 18, with 10 drawn.

• Cardiff are unbeaten in eight Championship matches against the Sky Blues, winning six of them.

• Lucas Jutkiewicz, who is now at loan to Middlesbrough, gained Coventry a point in an equaliser on the hour in the 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture. But they have not beaten the Bluebirds since a 1-0 Championship triumph at Ninian Park in August 2107.

Cardiff City

• The Bluebirds failed to score for the fourth time in six league outings when held to a goalless draw by Burnley at the Cardiff City Stadium on Sunday.

• Malky Mackay's Carling Cup runners-up have recorded two wins in 10 league outings, and have plunged from a top three berth out of the play-off places.

• But, going into this midweek batch of matches, Cardiff had not lost at home to any of the bottom-half clubs.

Coventry City

• Having completed 16 Championship games without a draw, struggling Coventry have now had three on the spin.

• Andy Thorn's side will make a 19th attempt to notch their first away league win of the season, to add to their pitiful total of four points on the road.

• The club with the poorest attack in the Championship, are also in danger of a 500th loss in second level league football.
