Of the three Premier League clubs who have changed their managers during the season, two currently reside in the five-team mini-league that has now formed at the foot of the table.

he other, Sunderland, were transformed by Martin O'Neill from a side with just one victory in nine to one who won seven of their next 10. As they were the first, it may well have helped to convince the boards of QPR and Wolves to act accordingly.

While untimely red cards have certainly hampered Mark Hughes' early progress at Loftus Road, Terry Connor began his reign with an encouraging draw at Newcastle. The result was all the more impressive considering his first 18 minutes of management may have left less confident individuals floundering.

Two-nil down away from home and having boldly changed three of his back four, 'TC' needed a response and the players with whom he's worked throughout Mick McCarthy's reign duly responded to earn him a deserved point.

While the 49-year-old would not have been the obvious choice, Wolves supporters may well consider him 'one of them' after a 13-year association with the club, though of course it will only be results that ultimately determine his popularity.

After 26 games last season, Wolves sat bottom of the Premier League, albeit with two more points than they have currently accumulated. They subsequently embarked on a four-game unbeaten run in which the eight points they secured began to offer hope of survival.

With two points separating all five lowly desperados at the start of the weekend, that kind of sequence may again prove decisive, and with Blackburn up next at Molineux, picking up a point or three at Craven Cottage this weekend may quickly turn TC from just "The Coach" to "The Catalyst".
MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head

Wolves have not won a top-flight match away to Fulham since a 2-1 victory on 19 August 1967.
The Molineux side have managed just one goal in their last four matches at Craven Cottage.
Wolves sat top of the table for a couple of hours after winning the reverse fixture on 21 August, before ending the day second behind Manchester City.

Fulham

Fulham are chasing a third successive league win. The last time they managed that feat was during the 2007-08 season, when they won their final three matches to narrowly avoid relegation.
Martin Jol's side have yet to lose a Premier League game in which they scored first this season (W6, D3).
Fulham have lost two of nine league games (W4, D3, L2) since Boxing Day.
They are chasing a 1,000th league win.

Wolves

Wolves kept two clean sheets in their opening three league games, including a 2-0 win against Fulham on 21 August. However, they have not recorded a shut-out in their subsequent 23 matches.
They have won one of their last 12 top-flight games (at QPR).
The Molineux side have recouped 14 points from losing positions this season, the best record in the division.
They are unbeaten in their last three trips to London, with draws at Arsenal and Tottenham followed by last month's victory at QPR..
