Coventry could well be unchanged from the team that played Crystal Palace in midweek.

Skipper Sammy Clingan and striker Cody McDonald, who hit the equaliser against Palace, will continue to push for starting places.

Birmingham give late tests to Keith Fahey (groin), David Murphy (hip) and Steven Caldwell (ribs).

The Blues may also have as many as four others back in contention to play after missing the Cup defeat by Chelsea.
MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head

• Birmingham have won 20 and lost 14 of 47 league matches against Coventry since 1919.

• A 73rd minute Keith Fahey goal separated the clubs when they clashed at St Andrews in August, to set Birmingham on course for a possible sixth double over the Sky Blues.

• The winning club has kept a clean sheet in the last five league meetings between these West Midlands rivals.

Coventry City

• One place and three points from safety, Coventry recorded their first draw in 17 Championship games by sharing two goals with Crystal Palace midweek.

• The Sky Blues have won two of the last eight league games, and only seven all season - all at home.

• Defeat to their near neighbours would be Coventry's 500th loss in second level league football, which they would not want to happen, as Andy Thorn completes his first year at the helm, originally in a caretaker capacity.

Birmingham City

• Chris Hughton's side can concentrate on an immediate return to the Premier League, now that they are out of all European and domestic cup competitions and embark on their 410th of a mininum of 60 fixtures this season.

• Tuesday's loss to Chelsea in the FA Cup replay was only their second defeat in 110 in all competitions. They have won one of the last six.

• Birmingham may have won twice as many home games as away matches in the league (10 to five), but they make the short journey to the Ricoh Arena in search of a fourth consecutive Championship triumph away from home.
