Crystal Palace will check on Darren Ambrose ahead of the visit of Barnsley after the midfielder missed Saturday's game at Hull because of illness.

Palace will definitely be without winger Wilfried Zaha, who serves the second game of a three-match ban.

Barnsley could recall 17-year-old midfielder Paul Digby as they look for only a second win in 10 league matches.

On-loan midfielder Michael Tonge is another player hoping for a recall after missing the last three games.
MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head

• This is their 58th meeting. All 57 previous fixtures have been league games, with Barnsley holding a 26 wins to 21 lead over Crystal Palace.

• The club playing away from home when these two have gone head-to-head has not prevailed in a decade. It was in January 2000 when Barnsley last took three points away from Selhurst Park.

• These clubs were in the Premier League together, when the Tykes last did the double over Palace in 1997/98.

Crystal Palace

• The mid-table Eagles are looking to stretch their unbeaten league run to 10 games, which would be their best in four years.

• Dean Freedman's side have drawn seven of nine Championship matches, including the last three. They are the stalemate specialists of the second tier (14 from 36).

• Palace are also hoping to register their 900th home win in league football.

Barnsley

• 17th-placed Barnsley are coming off their heaviest defeat of the season. The 4-0 loss to in-form Reading was their third successive reverse, in which they have not scored a single goal.

• The Tykes have gained one point in six games, while the 2-0 home triumph against Portsmouth on 18 February is their only maximum in nine.

• Keith Hill's side have not managed a clean sheet on the road since August.
