Preview

Hull midfielder Corry Evans is doubtful for the home game with Southampton because of a minor hamstring injury.

If Evans is not fit, Tom Cairney could come into the side, while striker Matty Fryatt is pushing for a recall after two games as a substitute.

Southampton will check on the fitness of striker Tadanari Lee, who has been suffering from an ankle injury.

The leaders are otherwise injury-free, with defenders Radhi Jaidi (knee) and Dan Seaborne (head) fit again.
MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head

• Southampton have won 17, Hull 12, and 18 of the 47 league clashes over 90 years have been drawn.

• Saints came from behind to win the reverse fixture 2-1 in November. Now Nigel Adkins's men are hunting their first double over the Tigers in 34 years.

• Five different players scored when Hull last entertained the Saints and won 5-0 in the Championship this week four years ago.

• The Championship's longest current unbeaten sequence of 11 games belongs to Hull, who are one place and one point outside the play-offs.

• Saturday's trip to Crystal Palace resulted in their sixth goalless draw of this Championship campaign. Only the Eagles have an equally high number of scoreless stalemates.

• 30 of Hull's 36 league fixtures have either been drawn, or decided by a single goal, and with only 28 goals shipped, the Tigers boast the tightest defence in this division.

• Having won a Championship game from a losing position for the third time this season, away to Millwall on Saturday, Southampton retained their two-point lead at the top of the table, and took their unbeaten league sequence to 10 games.

• The Championship's top scorers (68 in 37), are chasing a seventh win in nine games, and a fourth consecutive maximum on the road.

• When they beat Hull at St Mary's four months ago, Southampton also equalled a post-war club record of 21 straight home wins in all competitions. (They were unable to go on and break that record).
